Keith Richards said humor was rock and rollís greatest weapon, Bob Dylan proved it and Snider takes it to heart. Snider is a vociferous musician whose fans know him to be quite the workhorse. His acclaimed 2006 release, The Devil You Know found the barefoot troubadour performing live on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with David Letterman and the CD appeared on numerous year-end Top 10 lists including Spin, Blender and Rolling Stone. More recently, last yearís Peace Queer EP--a concept record featuring all the peace, love and anarchy Snider is known for--inspired Blender to say he "morphed from a wisecracking country-ish journeyman to the sharpest and funniest protest singer working today."
In many ways, Golan's songwriting can most closely be likened to a storm, or a weather system that has come and stayed for the last decade of her life. In the years since this weather system has entered her life, it's changed significantly - gaining elements and force as it travels across the topography of her emotional life. This weather system has reached its most lovely expression on Golan's sophomore album, Lead Balloon, the culmination of two years, organized around the pain and joy contained within that space. For Fans Of
