Chely Wright
Friday, November 12
8pm
$35

Artist's Website: Chely.com
Why She's Worth Watching: Lifted off the Ground may be Chely Wright’s seventh album, but on a number of levels it feels and sounds like her first, revealing an artist who has undergone a dramatic artistic transformation, emerging as a singer/songwriter of the first order. But the new album would never have come to be were it not for an equally dramatic personal transformation, which she has candidly and painstakingly documented. Lifted Off the Ground was released on Vanguard Records on May 4, the same day Random House published Wright's autobiography, Like Me.
For Fans Of: Country Music,

Why He's Worth Watching: Taking the stage for what’s easily the 100th time in almost as many days, Edwin McCain casually joins his band as they start off another set that’s impossibly tight and laid back at the same time. Cheryl Wheeler
w. Nervous But Excited
Friday, November 19
8pm
$31

Artist's Website: CherylWheeler.com | nervousbutexcited.com

Why She's Worth Watching:
Cheryl Wheeler has to be seen to be appreciated. Nothing you read and nothing you hear from her album prepares you for how good a performer she is. From her albums you can tell that she is a gifted songwriter with a beautiful voice. From other people's comments about her you can learn that she is a natural story teller with a fantastic sense of humor. But until you see her in person, you never really believe what you've been told about her. Besides, almost half of the songs she does during her shows haven't been recorded!

Nervous But Excited is the Michigan-based pleasantly aggressive folk duo, whose dead-on harmonies are built upon two songwriters, two singers, three guitars, a mandolin, a violin, a ukulele, a harmonica, genuinely crafted stories, vaguely choreographed dancing, a whole lot of laughter and a glockenspiel.

Saturday, November 27
8:30pm (both nights)
$39.50

Artist's Website: www.citizencope.com
Why He's Worth Watching:
"When I was a kid, I was a listener," says Clarence Greenwood, a.k.a. Citizen Cope. "Music was something coming out of a radio or off a record, something that made me feel these things I couldn’t explain. It was magical to me, and I thought it was something you had to be ordained with." What’s clear when you listen to Cope’s own music now, years after he sat transfixed in front of his stereo speakers, is that he *is* ordained. Or touched. Or blessed. Or however you want to say it: The man has the gift to share.

With their major-label debut Indian Summer hitting the shelves in 2004 the band gave a shining example of their polite, astute, and engaging sound. It was followed in 2006 by Love Loss Hope Repeat.
